Although Tonea Stewart is a staple in the film industry, she is a life-long educator. 
As the Founder and Executive Director of the Tonea Stewart Performing Arts Camps, Dr. Tommie 'Tonea' Stewart has provided various avenues for the enlightenment and education of our nation's youth.

As former Dean of the College of Visual & Performing Arts at Alabama State University Dr. Stewart was able to mold and teach young minds that have gone on to change the world. 
During her tenure, the number of Theatre majors, minors, and graduates from the Dept. of Theatre Arts soared. Over seventy-five percent of the ASU theatre graduates have received full scholarships to major graduate universities such as Brown, Yale, Univ. of CA~ Los Angeles, Univ. Of Louisville, Washington State, New York Univ., Louisiana State Univ., Pennsylvania State Univ., Florida Int’l Univ., Rutgers Univ., Brandeis Univ., and Ohio State.
Youth and adults from the Montgomery area and across the nation have been touched by Tonea’s artistry.
